Early rain triggers landslide at Deralakatte

Mangalore, May 20: Landslide triggered by heavy rains has blocked the road leading towards Belme- Renjadi area, Deralakatte, about 13 km from the city on May 19.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The landslide has also disrupted the traffic and movement of people said a reliable source from Deralakatte.

According to him, the incident took place in the night of Wednesday.  The mud, leveled for the construction of new building near Ayyappa temple, was fell on the road moving towards Belma Renjadi, due to heavy rain poured in the night.

No casualties were recorded. Locals have carried out the road clearance work early in the morning, he said.
