Dr Veerendra Heggade inaugurates Mangalore Dasara celebration at Kudroli

Mangalore, Oct 10, 2013: Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade inaugurated the ‘Mangalore Dasara 2013’ celebrations organized by Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra, Kudroli on October 10, Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Heggade appreciated the beauty of the temple and the innovative ideas and social activities taking place every year.

Dr Heggade also urged the devotees to remove the bad qualities present in them during the festive season, which was even followed by the elders. The increasing numbers of cases related to corruption, rape and murder are hindering the country’s growth. Hence people must come together to fight against these crimes.

Former union minister B Janardhan Poojary thanked Dr Heggade for gracing the occasion and said that the person who has worked for the upliftment of women and various social welfare programmes deserve Bharat Ratna Award.

Dr Heggade had symbolically inaugurated the celebration by handing over the Temple flag to Temple committee president H S Sairam.

Temple committee secretary Padmaraj R welcomed the guests and gathering, while Manohar Prasad compered the programme.

District incharge minister B Ramanath Rai, health minister U T Khadar, fisheries minister B Abhayachandra Jain, MLA J R Lobo, MLA Shakuntala Shetty, US cultural ambassador for India Aarathi Krishnan, Jaya C Suvarna, J P Narayan Swamy, Urmila Ramesh Kumar, K P Nanjundi, Harikrishna Bantwal, and others were present.
