Dr Ravindranath Shanbhag hospitalised following heart attack

Udupi, April 01, 2022: Human Rights Protection Foundation Chairman and Senior Citizens’ Rights activist Dr Ravindranath Shanbhag has been admitted to the KMC Hospital at Manipal  following a heart attack. He is being treated at the ICU of the Hospital.

Shanbhag who complained of chest pain on Thursday night was rushed to the KMC Hospital. Doctors performed angioplasty and  also stent placement and he is presently responding to treatment.

Dr Shanbhag is known for his activism which began in the 1980s when he founded the Consumers’ Forum and later the Human Rights Protection Foundation in 1992 which has helped secure justice to thousands of aggrieved citizens.
