Dr. Anupama Zeena Sequeira secures I rank in MD psychiatry

Mangalore, Aug 19, 2011 :  Dr. Anupama Zeena Sequeira, the assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at Fr. Muller Hospital and Medical College, has secured the first rank in MD psychiatry examination conducted by RGUHS in 2010 – 11.

Dr. Anupama is the daughter of Francis Sequeira, a senior manager in Vijaya Bank, and Helen Sequeira, an employee of Corporation Bank. The family hails from Shaktinagar, close to Kulshekar.

Dr. Anupama went to school in Goa and then did her high school at Sacred Heart in Kulshekar and passed her II PUC from St. Agnes College in 2002. She then did her MBBS at AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and completed her internship in 2008. She joined for MD psychiatry at FMMC in May 2008 and passed in May 2011. She is now an assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at FMMC.

Dr. Anupama has won a number of awards in her student life. She won the Rashtrapathi Award for Scouts and Guides, bagged the III rank for forensics in II MBBC and the Young Scholar Award in psychiatry.

She says that she likes playing the keyboard, playing carom, reading novels, and singing.
