District-level body building competition held in city

Mangalore, Mar 29, 2012: The DK Body Builders’ Association organized the district-level Dakshina Kannada Body Building Championship 2011 – 12 at Town Hall on March 29 Thursday. 

Dr. K. Devraj, the principal of SDM College, was the chief guest of the occasion. In his address, he said that modern youngsters are more interested in laptops and computers than in outdoor activities, owing to which they might face more health related problems. Appreciating the organizers for organizing a body building competition, he said that such events will make the youth interested in outdoor activities.

Nagar Narayan Shenoy, the founder of the association; Dr. K. Ghanashyam Kamath, the professor at the department of orthopedics in KMC; Ravindranath Rai, the association president; and others were present on the dais. 

The competition comprised masters, seniors, and physical challenged categories, further categorized as per weight.
