District BJP demands appointment of Mayor in MCC

Mangalore, Sep 23, 2013: The DK unit of BJP organized a demonstration demanding the immediate appointment of Mayor in front of Mangalore City Corporation on Sep 23, Monday.

Addressing the protestors, MLC Monappa Bhandary said that Congress which eagerly waits for an opportunity to criticize BJP is now violating the constitutional laws by not appointing MCC mayor even after seven months.

 

According to the law, the Mayor must be appointed within six months of the election, but male domination in MCC has kept the post vacant.

The basic necessity works like Repair of roads, efficient water supplies, issuing of birth and death certificates, street light problem are pending leading to various problems to the public.
The real faces of JD(S) and Congress have been brought in front of public when they moved to the court and filed the petition for Mayoral reservation.

Ministers U T Khader and Ramanath Rai easily wash off their hands by pointing at Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake for the appointment of Mayor, he criticized.
