District Admin gets tough on Corona: Shops to open only 6-9 a.m. from May 7th

DK DCMangaluru, May 6, 2021: Respoind to the sharp single spike of 1500+ new cases of Covid recorded on May 5, the DK District Administration has withdrawn relaxation of curfew in the city.

Announcing this, the Deputy Commissioner Dr. K.V. Rajendra said henceforth purchase of essential items will be allowed only from 6.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. People should return home and all grocery shops should close by 10:00 a.m. Movement of vehicles and pedestrians too will be closely monitored. He urged the people not to move about unnecessarily in the city. Vehicles found loitering without any valid reason will be seized immediately, he warned.

No social functions like weddings, birthdays, house warming will be allowed after May 15th. Efforts will be made with those who have already obtained permission to tone down the celebration in view of the pandemic.
