Speaking to reporters on April 12, Friday, Lakshminarayan while admitting that he was initially upset over denial of ticket, said he respected the party decision and would strive for the victory of the party candidate  Sukumar.

On this occasion, the MLA said he was satisfied with his performance as an MLA and pointed out that he was  able to ensure that no allegations came up against him during his tenure.

The MLA also clarified that none of his supporters will quit the party out of resentment. To a query on his participation in the Haveri convention of the KJP, he said he had only participated as a gesture of goodwill towards the former CM. My participation in the convention did not mean that I will quit BJP to join KJP, Lakshminarayan clarified.

The candidate BM Sukumar Shetty, Pranay Kumar Shetty, President of BJP Byndoor Committee, Chittaranjan Hegde, Vice President and others were present.
