Delayed flight makes passengers furious

Mangalore, Dec 21, 2011 : The Dubai to Mangalore Air India Express flight on Dec 20 Tuesday was late by several hours, putting a number of people to inconvenience.

 

The flight was scheduled to take off from Dubai at 1:20 UAE time, but AI announced at midnight that it will be late by 4 hours. Since the AI staff at Dubai had not issued any prior notice regarding the delay, a number of passengers were forced to wait for several hours.

 

To make matters worse, another announcement was made an hour later that the flight will take off not after four hours, but at 11:15 a.m., forcing furious passengers to spend the night at the airport.

The flight finally took off at 12:15 UAE time and arrived at Mangalore at 4:50 p.m.

Family members and friends of the passengers who had arrived at the airport to receive them also had to spend the entire day at the airport.

According to certain sources, the same flight had taken off too late from Mangalore, owing to which its return journey was also behind schedule.
