Dejected over failure in exams, 18 yr girl ends life

Kundapur, May 7, 2013: In a tragic incident, an 18 year old girl, dejected by her failure in the PUC  exams, the results of which were announced on May 6, Monday, ended her life  by jumping into a well on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Veena Poojari, daughter of Narasimha and Ganga Poojari of Chikkamane in Tallur.

It is learnt, the girl who was quite good in studies was an arts student at Government Junior College, Kundapur. She had failed in English by scoring  18 marks and the only one who failed among her friends.The dejected girl, later chose the extreme step of suicide.

Her college principal Subrahamanya Joshi said Veena was a bright student and also the class leader.

Kundapur police have registered a case.
