Deep sea fishing ban period ends; Trawl boats venture into fishing

Mangaluru, Aug 01, 2023: Deep sea fishing has commenced on August 1, Tuesday after a two month ban that was in force as every year from June 1 to July end.

 

Several trawl boats have ventured into fishing on Tuesday morning. There are a total of 5037 mechanised boats in coastal Karnataka including 1,676 boats in Dakshina Kannada, 2,222 boats in Udupi and 1,139 mechanised boats in Uttara Kannada district.

On Tuesday only trawl boats have ventured into fishing while purse-seine boat fishing will commence from August 4.
