Decision on tariff revision soon: Shobha

Mangalore, December 10: Minister for Energy Shoba Karandlaje said here on Thursday that the Government will soon review the power tariff increase announced by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) on Tuesday and take a final decision on implementing it.

She told presspersons that she would discuss it with the Chief Minister on Monday before the Government took a final decision.

To a question, she said that the State would again urge the Union Government to ban endosulfan chemical.

It was not enough if its spray was banned only in Kerala and Karnataka.

People should also put pressure on the Centre to ban it, she said.

The Minister was returning to Bangalore from Kasaragod in Kerala.
