Day 3 of NYF features folk dance, painting, sculpture, and photography

Mangalore, Jan 14, 2012: The folk dance competition, which had commenced on day two of the National Youth Festival (NYF) with 11 teams performing before a large audience, continued on day three with 12 teams presenting folk dances depicting their culture and tradition at TMA Pai Convention Hall on Jan 14 Saturday. 


Teams from Manipur, Puducherry, Goa, and Delhi performed in the morning, each presentation illustrating the lifestyle, culture, and traditions of their respective states.

Teams from Chatthisgarh, Dadar and Haveli, Jharkhand, Orissa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Madhya Pradesh performed in the afternoon. 


The Rajasthani team and the Kerala team presented a fusion of their respective dance forms and cultures. 


Besides, photography, painting, and sculpture competitions were held in Kadri Temple today. Eighty-one young people participated in various categories.
