
Mangaluru, Apr 21, 2026: Director General of Police M A Saleem said that law and order in Dakshina Kannada has remained satisfactory over the past one year and instructed officials to maintain the same level of peace.
During his visit to Mangaluru, the DGP held a police review meeting at the City Police Commissioner’s office to assess the district’s progress. Speaking to media after the meeting, he said there have been no major untoward incidents in the district over the last year, and officials have been directed to continue maintaining public safety and strengthen their relationship with citizens.
He also noted that several police personnel from North Karnataka and their families have requested transfers. The issue was discussed in detail during the meeting, and he assured that necessary steps would be taken to address these requests in a phased manner.
When asked about an alleged complaint filed by DCRE SP S S Kashi against Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy, the DGP did not respond and left the venue without commenting.
