DRI sleuths arrest Bhatkal man with Rs 10 lakh unaccounted cash

Mangalore, Dec 30, 2013 :  The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence Sleuths have arrested a man from Bhatkal at the Mangalore International Airport on December 28, Saturday  night for possessing unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 10 lakh.

The arrested man is Abdul Rasheed (40). He was almost on his way to the departure lounge at around 11.45 pm when the DRI sleuths found the cash in his trolley bag.

The currency of 1000 and 500 denominations were found hidden  amid confectionary products.

It has been learnt that the unaccounted cash thus taken abroad is  exchanged in foreign exchange  counters.
