DK must gift more scientists to nation: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah

He was speaking after inaugurating the Pilikula Regional Science Centre along with  Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Shripad Yasso Naik at the Pilikula Nisargadhama in the outskirts of the city on October 1, Wednesday.  The two jointly unveiled the plaque on the occasion.

Lauding Indian scientists for the success of Mars Orbiter Mission, the CM said India needed more scientists and hoped the enterprising Dakshina Kannada district could contribute many scientists to the nation.

Union Minister Shripad Naik who also spoke, said  the nation has 48 such centres   and added the second such Regional Science Centre in Karnataka would come up in Mysore. He also promised setting up of such centres in every district of the state.

Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim, Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo and Prof. R.C. Sobthi,  President of Administrative Committee, NCSM, Kolkata were among others present on the occasion.
