DK in the lead in Sakala implementation: Shalini Rajaneesh

Mangalore, Jan16, 2013: Shalini Rajaneesh, Principal Secretary, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms has said that the Dakshina Kannada district was in the lead in the effective implementation of the Sakala Scheme of the state government  aimed at providing services to citizens within a stipulated time frame.

Speaking to the media  after holding discussions with officials on the scheme at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangalore on January 16, Wednesday, she said  all the 44,000 applications received in Dakshina Kannada this month  under the Sakala scheme, have been disposed. She said  265  services  out  of the total 1800 services have been presently brought under the ambit of Sakala. She said in all a total of 1.5 crore people in the state are benefitting from the scheme and 97.65 per cent of the applications have been cleared.

Shalini Rajaneesh further informed that  Sakala has ensured transparency in various activities and added public can also visit www.kar.nic.in to  keep track of their  applications. Call centres have also been opened under the scheme, she said and added these centres were receiving  nearly 2000 enquiry calls and around 800 calls pertaining to complaints every day. She said officials and departments which have ensured good service to the public will be felicitated  on Republic Day.
