DK in-charge Minister directs officials to shift people from landslide prone areas

Mangaluru, July 08, 2023: DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Gundurao  has directed officials to take steps to ensure there is no loss of life in incidents of landslide as in case of the Nandavara incident of Friday.

 

He directed officials to shift people residing in landslide prone areas to safer places including Kalaji Kendras or their relatives’ houses.

The Minister who is in the district held a meeting with officials at the command control room of MCC on Friday night.

Though the intensity of rain has reduced, there is a possibility of landslides. He also directed PWD officials to inspect bridges to detect any cracks. He said there should not be any dereliction of duty on the part of officials in natural calamity management.

He also directed fishermen against venturing into the sea and instructed that all nodal officers at taluk levels must be in the taluk headquarters and review the situation.

Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan, City Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain, SP Rishyanth, ZP CEO Dr Anand, Additional DC Manikya and other officials as well as elected representatives were present.
