DCP pays surprise visit to jail

Mangalore, May 21: DCP of Law and Order R. Ramesh Kumar and team paid a surprise visit to Mangalore District Jail on May 21, Friday. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Claiming that the visit was a routine administrative matter, Mr. Kumar denied that it was a surprise check undertaken by the police department after the sting operation that showed Prasad Attavar settling terms for starting a riot. 

The team checked various issues such as smoking, possession of mobile phones and SIM cards, and so on. Kumar said that no violations were discovered. 

The jail houses around 240 prisoners.
