Mangalore, Oct 11, 2013: Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) in association with the Catholic Sabha, Mangalore Pradesh will organize a conference on ‘The Safety of Women’ at Town Hall on October 13, Sunday.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on October 11, Friday Lydia D’Cunha, President of the DCCW said that DCCW is working diocese for the development of women in the society from 52 years. It will also fight against the sexual assault, rape and murder on young girls and help them to give the respectful life in the society.
Umashree, Minister for Women and Child welfare will be the chief guest, while Ramanath Rai, Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment and District Minister In-charge, Brahmakumari Vishweshari, convener of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Sr Lillis, Asst Superior General Bethany Congregation and Shameera Jahan, Asst Organizer Jamathe Hind Women’s Wing will be the guest of honour.
Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza will preside over the function.
DCCW Religious Director Fr Francis D’Souza, secretary Terry Pais, treasurer Philomena D’Souza and member Benedicta D’Souza were also present.
