DCC observed 96th birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi

Mangalore, Nov 19, 2013: Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee observed the 96th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at the Congress office on Nov 19, Tuesday.

Congress leaders paid floral tribute to the portrait of late Gandhi. 

Speaking on the occasion, leader Ibrahim Kodijal said that late Gandhi was known for her welfare programmes and land reforms implemented for the benefit of the poor during her tenure.

Mangalore North MLA Moidin Bava said that the former Prime Minister was a powerful woman known for her programme introduced for thousands of poor families. Every youth in party must be inspired from her work and strengthen the party to bring back to the power.

Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, Mamatha Gatty, Shashidhar Hegde, Former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty, T K Sudhir and others were present.
