DC urges people to use green crackers during Diwali

Mangaluru, Nov 04, 2023: In the wake of the upcoming Deepavali celebrations, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has urged people to only use green crackers.

 

He has also said that loud noise making fire crackers have been banned and public should not use fire crackers that make sound above 125 decibels or 145 peak noise. Lighting crackers is also banned from 10 pm to 6 am, the DC said adding fire crackers are not allowed near schools, hospitals and places of worship.

The DC has further asked public to refrain from using fire crackers in narrow places and instead use fire crackers in open areas or ground.
