Bantwal, June 16: Deputy Commissioner V. Ponnuraj and Mayor Rajani Dugganna visited the rain-lashed areas of Adyar and BC road. They visited especially those areas in which two-wheeler riders and pedestrians find it difficult to move because of the incessant rains and the half constructed flyover in BC Road on June 16, Wednesday.

The national highway at BC road is full of slush, making movement difficult for pedestrians and motorists. A ditch, which was dug as a foundation for the flyover, has turned out to be very dangerous.

Despite the fact that authorities had acquired land by the roadsides, some people continue to run petty shops by the roadsides. The DC has ordered the removal of these shops by Saturday.

The DC visited the surrounding areas of Sahyadri College of Engineering, Adyar, where blocked storm water drains have turned out to be a nuisance. He also instructed the officials concerned to find solutions to these problems as quickly as possible.
