Hubballi, Nov 3, 2026: Cyclone Murasu is likely to bring heavy rainfall to several parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, south interior districts, the Malnad region and coastal areas, until November 6, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Several districts across the state are expected to receive heavy showers under the influence of the cyclone. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Chikkaballapur, Kolar and Bengaluru.
The rainfall triggered by the cyclone is expected to help reduce the state’s rainfall deficit, said C S Patil, senior scientist at IMD.
Meanwhile, Madikeri city and Ponnampet town in Kodagu district received light to moderate rainfall on Monday.
