Cyanide Mohan to get a lawyer to defend him

Mangalore, Jan 25, 2012: Mohan Kumar aka Cyanide Mohan, who stands accused of forcing several women to consume cyanide tablets before robbing them of their valuables, says that he will hire a lawyer to represent him.

Mohan Kumar informed Ninganna Gowda Jantli the fast track court judge, that he requires a lawyer.

Mohan has 10 charge sheets filed against him, accusing him of using cyanide to murder several women. He said that the lawyer will be present in court from Tuesday, but refused to reveal the name of the lawyer. 

Explaining the absence of several important witnesses, Cheyabba Beary, the special public prosecutor, told the court that Mohammed, a common witness in six cases, had informed in advance that he would be unable to attend the hearing. Two scientists had also expressed inability to attend as they were busy setting up laboratories in Gulbarga. They had sought permission to appear before the court on Feb 2. 

Dr. Kumar, another witness, had informed that he would attend the court on January 24.
