Customs seize nearly 500gms of gold today again at Mangalore airport

Mangalore, Oct 25, 2013:   The customs officials at the Mangalore International Airport seized nearly 500gms of Gold from a passenger arrived from Dubai by the Air India Express flight this morning, October 26, Saturday.

 

 

 

This time the gold was concealed in the handle of a Non-stick Pan and in the Blanket Cover beading. This is the third consecutive day Gold being seized in Bajpe Airport. The value of the smuggled gold is estimated to be around 15 lakhs. The gold smuggler is identified as Muhamed Ashraf, hailing from Kasaragod.

The passenger has been arrested and taken into custody.
