Couple injured as lorry rams autorickshaw near Uppinangady

Uppinangady, Jul 26, 2026: A couple was injured after a lorry allegedly crashed into the autorickshaw they were travelling in from behind near Bellare in Nekkiladi village, close to Uppinangady.

According to police, Abdul Khader and his wife, Khateejamma, were travelling in the autorickshaw when the accident occurred. The lorry, driven by Sunil, was on its way from Mani to Uppinangady when it allegedly struck the rear of the autorickshaw near Bellare.

The injured couple was initially treated at a private hospital in Uppinangady before being shifted to the Government Hospital in Puttur, where they were admitted for further treatment.

Puttur Traffic Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
