Mangaluru, June 21, 2026: A husband and wife were found dead in their rented house at Kaje near Alankaru in Kadaba taluk of Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday, leaving behind their two-year-old daughter.
The deceased have been identified as Dinesh, a native of Bajagoli, and Sangeetha of Siddakatte. Police suspect that Dinesh allegedly killed his wife before taking his own life.

Dinesh, who ran a hotel business in Alankaru, was residing with his wife and daughter in a rented house. According to sources, the couple had been facing domestic disputes for some time and had stayed away from the house for nearly a month before returning on Friday evening.
The incident came to light on Saturday morning when neighbours noticed no activity from the house and alerted authorities. On entering the house, they found Sangeetha dead inside, while Dinesh was found hanging.
In a heart-rending scene, the couple’s two-year-old daughter was reportedly found crying beside the bodies of her parents.
Kadaba Police Sub-Inspector Jamburaj and his team visited the spot and conducted an inspection. The bodies have been shifted for post-mortem examination.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths. The incident has left residents of the area in shock, while the plight of the orphaned child has evoked widespread sympathy.
