Corporation Bank Felicitates CMD’s of Bank of Baroda and Indian Overseas Bank

Mangalore, Nov 16, 2010: Corporation Bank felicitated Shri M D Mallya, Chairman & Managing Director of Bank of Baroda and Shri M Narendra, Chairman & Managing Director of Indian Overseas Bank, today, at the Corporate Office of Corporation Bank at Mangalore. Shri Ramnath Pradeep, Chairman & Managing Director, Corporation Bank & Shri Asit Pal & Shri Narendra Singh, Executive Directors of the Corporation Bank graced the occasion. Also present on the occasion were Shri U B Bhat, Chief General Manager, Other General Managers, Executives & Employees of Corporation Bank.

 

 

 

 

Shri Asit Pal, Executive Director welcomed the gathering and said “this special function is organized to felicitate two fellow Bankers who started their career in Corporation Bank and excelled in their illustrious career, not only bringing glory to themselves but also to the institution which was instrumental in shaping their career path. These two Bankers par excellence, by their achievements have shown the qualities and abilities built in them and willingness to take up larger responsibilities of greater multitude to serve the banking and the society”.

Shri Ramnath Pradeep, Chairman & Managing Director, Corporation Bank, while felicitating the two stalwarts of Indian Banking, Shri M. D. Mallya and Shri M. Narendra, opined that the two leaders of the Banking Industry, by their dedication, commitment and leadership qualities, have reached the pinnacle of their career as the Chairmen & Managing Directors of Banking majors like Bank of Baroda and Indian Overseas Bank respectively and are a source of inspiration to all the Bankers. Corporation Bank, he said, is happy to share their success as it was instrumental in nurturing the leadership talents in them and offer these leaders to serve the Banking at the Industry level. The top four PSBs of the Country, he told, are being headed by the Executive Talents groomed by Corporation Bank.

Shri B.R. Bhat, General Manager and Shri U.B. Bhat, Chief General Manager, outlined the contributions of Shri M.D. Mallya and Shri M. Narendra during their stint at Corporation Bank and beyond and wished them many more laurels.

Replying to the felicitation, Shri M. D. Mallya, Chairman & Managing Director of Bank of Baroda, thanked the gesture of Corporation Bank and said that it was like a Homecoming for him. He recalled his fond memories of working in the Bank for more than three decades and termed the Bank as a ‘Jewel in the Crown’ amongst the Banks and expressed his confidence that the Bank would ‘Leapfrog into next Orbit’ with sustained and motivated growth plan and with development of leadership at all levels of functions.

 

 

 

 

Shri M. Narendra, Chairman & Managing Director, Indian Overseas Bank, lauded Corporation Bank and its initiatives and attributed the success of the Bank to its intrinsic value and core strength. He said that every institution should resort to SWOT analysis to evaluate it strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats at regular intervals to position itself ideally towards the path of progress. Shri Narendra called upon the CorpBank employees to align with the Organisation with energy and also energize the business.
