Cops raid sub-jail ; find cell phone, ganja with 2 under trials

Mangalore, Dec 18, 2012 :  A surprise raid on the city sub-jail by a police team led by ACP Kavitha on the night of December 17, Monday,  once again revealed that  banned items are making way into the prison.

 

 

During Monday’s raid the police team  reportedly found mobile phone in the possession of notorious underworld don Rasheed Malabari who is behind bars for terror links. Meanwhile 10 grams of ganja was found with another under trial.

This is the first raid on the new jail building, ever since the under trials were shifted from the old premises to the new one. The shifting took place following frequent clashes between prisoners in the old building.
