Cops bust Bantwal dacoity case; arrest 7 accused

Bantwal, Jan 23, 2024: Police have succeeded in cracking the dacoity case in a house at Menadu in Vagga village by masked men by threatening a mother and daughter in the house at knife point and looting jewellery and cash worth lakhs of rupees. A total of seven persons have been arrested in connection with this case.

 

Those arrested are Ganesh Naika (26) of Mala, Dinesh Naika (22), Sagar Shetty (21), Rakesh L Pinto (29) of Aikala, M Seetaram alias Praveen (36) of Kadaba, Sudhir (29) and  Mohammad of Ira in Bantwal taluk who had purchased the stolen gold.

Police had seized 54 grams jewellery valued at Rs 3.15 lakhs, an Innova car worth Rs 8 lakhs and a Tata Indica car worth Rs 2 lakhs from the accused.

The theft had occurred during the early hours of January 11.
