Congress stages ’Vote Bachao – Desh Bachao’ protest, targets Modi, Shah and CEC

Mangaluru, Nov 5, 2026: The Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee organised a protest meeting near the Clock Tower in Mangaluru as part of the All India Congress Committee’s nationwide ’Vote Bachao – Desh Bachao’ campaign.

The campaign aims to safeguard democratic values, uphold the ideals of the Constitution and protect the sanctity of the right to vote.

Congress workers and leaders participated in the protest, raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and expressing strong resentment against the Union government.

The protesters called for the protection of democratic institutions, constitutional principles and the voting rights of citizens.

Former minister Ramanath Rai and Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee president Padmaraj addressed the gathering.
