Congress stages protest; demands arrest of Vaidik

Mangalore, July 21, 2014: The city unit of Congress has taken strong exception to the silence maintained by the BJP with regard to the meeting between Baba Ramdev aide Ved Pratap Vaidik and    terrorist Hafiz Saeed. The party also demanded the arrest of Vaidik.

 

 

The Congress  organised a protest in front of the DC office on July 21, Monday. Addressing the protestors, former MLA Vijaykumar Shetty  stressed the need for a thorough probe into the issue. On Vaidik’s statement that he was ready to meet Saeed again, Shetty  also wanted to know the reason behind Modi’s silence.

Kallige Taranath Shetty, another Congress leader also criticised the silence of the NDA and demanded action against Vaidik.

Ibrahim Kodijal, interim President of District Congress, Stanley Alvares, Arun Coelho, BG Suvarna and others participated in the protest.

They also submitted a memorandum to the President of India through the Deputy Commissioner demanding the arrest of Ved Pratap Vaidik.
