Congress root cause for corruption - C. T. Ravi at Jana Sangharsh Abhiyan

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, June 26: Speaking at the BJP’s Jana Sangharsh Abhiyan, which was held at Sanghaniketan on June 25 Saturday, C. T. Ravi, the MLA of Chikmagalur, said that Congress is the root cause of corruption in the country.

Elaborating on his statement, Mr. Ravi said that Mahatma Gandhi had openly stated after Independence that the National Congress must be dissolved because it had served its purpose. He had expressed his fears that if the Congress continued to exist, it would lose its identity as a group created to fight for India’s freedom and would become a political party that could easily misuse power.

Stating that the Congress leaders have constantly misused the name of the party by claiming to be the inheritors of independent India, he said that, when Gandhi asked the members to form their own parties if they wished, the honest people in the party left it and got busy with social reformation, while Nehru, who was clearly against Gandhian principles clung to it. The results of this are now quite evident, he added.

Listing out a wide range of scams such as the Jeep Scam of 1948, the Nagarwala Finance Scam, the Maruti Udyog Scam, Bofors Scam, Harshad Mehta Scam, Gold Star Scam, JMM Scam, Telgi Scam, Commonwealth Games Scam, Yes Bank Scam, and 2G Spectrum Scam, Mr. Ravi said that these are all Congress originated or associated with the Congress.

The Congress is simply continuing looting the country just as the British and the Moghuls did in the past, he said, pointing out that Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi have not spoken a word after all the public demands for immediate implementation of the Jan Lokpal Bill.

He further said that the Congress leaders will find themselves behind bars if the Jan Lokpal Bill is implemented, adding that the Congress knows that it will be doomed if the entire list of people having Swiss bank accounts is exposed. He also said that, if this happens, the people will reject the large number of parks, circles, roads, schemes, and centres named after Congress leaders Indira Gandhi, Nehru, and Rajiv.

He also said that, if the Rs. 16 trillion dollars stashed away in Swiss banks is brought back to the country, it can be managed without taxes for 30 years, free rations can be given away to the poor, and Rs. 4 crore can be distributed to every village in the country, and four-lane roads can be constructed in all taluks.

He urged people to launch another freedom struggle to wipe away the corruption that has been nurtured by the Congress for so many years.

Expressing his opinions, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that, other than Lal Bahadur Shastry, all other prime ministers the country has had were corrupt. Alleging that the Congress is continuing the British Raj in India through its anti-people policies and that Sonia Gandhi is ruling the country just as dictatorially as her mother-in-law Indira Gandhi did.

Assembly Deputy Speaker N. Yogish Bhat and many other BJP leaders were present.
