Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Feb 8, 2012: The DK unit of the Congress party organized a protest in front of the DC’s office on Feb 8 Wednesday, during which they criticized the three BJP MLAs who were caught on camera watching porn during the assembly.

In his protest address, Ivan D’Souza, the secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, said that Laxman Savadi, the cooperation minister, and C. C. Patil, the woman and child welfare minister, were caught on media cameras watching porn on their mobile phone when the assembly was in session. The mobile phone allegedly belonged to Krishna J. Palemar, the district-in-charge minister. Flaying the three ministers, Ivan D’Souza termed their behavior as “shameful.”

Accusing the CM of being responsible for such incidents, he said that the CM continues to support these ministers. He challenged the CM to resign, contest for elections, win, and come to power again if he can.

Flaying Palemar, he said that he has wrecked the reputation of DK, adding that people will now think that DK is producing blue films. He warned the CM that if he continues keeping silent and protesting the guilty ministers, MLAs will start shooting blue films during assembly.

Stating that the three ministers have wrecked the sacredness of the Vidhana Soudha, which is like a temple, he said that they ought to be expelled from the party. Sarcastically stating that this is one of BJP’s “achievements,” he said that the Congress has not succeeded in “achieving” this for the past 60 years.

Later, they performed a purification ritual of the Vidhana Soudha by pouring water on a model of the Vidhana Soudha on a car. They also burned the effigies of the three ministers.

Among those who participated in this protest are MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty, P. V. Mohan, Mamatha Gatty, Hema Shetty, Shashidhar Hegde, Ashok, Farooq Ullal, Sadashiva Ullal, Youth Congress South Zone President Praveenchandra Alva, Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, Arun Coelho, and others.
