Mangaluru, Oct 27, 2026: Former minister and BJP MLC C.T. Ravi launched a sharp attack on the Congress, accusing the party of pursuing opportunistic politics and alleging that it operates with a “hardware jihadi” approach and a “software Urban Naxal” mindset.

Addressing a press conference in Mangaluru, Ravi said the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls had been conducted eight times in the country and was a decentralised, constitutional process.

He said the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, only issues the notification, while the bulk of the revision work is carried out by more than 11 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across the country. Therefore, allegations against the SIR process were effectively directed at these officials, he claimed.

Ravi pointed out that Congress leaders from Kerala, including Ramesh Chennithala and V.D. Satheesan, as well as the TVK party in Tamil Nadu, had expressed appreciation for the SIR process. In this context, he said, the allegations raised by Congress leaders lacked substance.

“Falsehood spreads quickly, while the truth takes time to reach the public but ultimately prevails,” Ravi said.

He announced that the BJP would launch a nationwide campaign from November 1 to 30 under the theme ‘Save Democracy, End Anarchy, Protect the Constitution’.

The campaign aims to mobilise people and create awareness through foot marches, rallies, interactions with students and conferences involving intellectuals, he added.
