
Mangalore, Nov 14, 2012: The district unit of the Congress party has accused BJP leaders of portraying central government schemes as their own contributions.
Speaking on the issue, Ramanath Rai said that the central government has sanctioned over Rs. 200 crore for the implementation of a number of schemes, including the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana in DK for 2012 – 13.
Further, he said that the central government has released Rs. 21 crore to implement the National Rural Drinking Water Program (NRDWP). The centre had earmarked Rs. 51.37 crore for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Rs. 11.24 crore for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Besides, the central government had sanctioned Rs. 16.22 crore to the Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat, and Gram Panchayats under its 13th finance scheme.
Mr. Rai flayed the BJP for calling all these schemes as its own achievements.
