
K. Vijayakumar Shetty, former Congress MLA, told reporters on Oct 27, Saturday that C. T. Ravi had illegally acquired forest property for a mining company belonging to his nephew Sudarshan, near Marle in Chikmagalur. Further, he said that C. T. Ravi had illegally acquired 75 cents of land for Anjaneya Education Seva Trust, which is being run by his wife Pallavi.
Further, Mr. Shetty said that the Lokayukta had submitted a report against C. T. Ravi for encroaching on government land, but the government has not yet confiscated it from him. He warned that the Congress will release documents providing C. T. Ravi’s involvement in illegally encroaching on and acquiring a lake near his coffee estate in Chikmagalur and 150 acres of land belonging to the forest department.
In 2004, C. T. Ravi had declared his assets before the Lokayukta, showing that he has property worth Rs. 10 lakh. In 2011, he showed that he had property worth Rs. 2 crore, Mr. Shetty said.
Referring to Sonia Gandhi’s recent visit to Mangalore and her statement that the state government has not maintained accounts of central government funds properly, Mr. Shetty said that C. T. Ravi had criticized Mrs. Gandhi. He warned C. T. Ravi that Congress workers will gherao him when he comes to DK if he continues to attack Mrs. Gandhi.
