Compound walls collapse in heavy rains

Mangalore, Aug 8, 2012 : Heavy rains continuously lashed against Mangalore city, owing to which a number of compound walls have collapsed.

 

 

 

On Aug 8, Wednesday, the compound wall of a Mannagudda warehouse collapsed at around 10:00 p.m. The impact led to the collapse of the compound wall of Apeksha Apartments, located next to the warehouse, which in turn led to the collapse of the compound walls of three houses near the apartments.

The debris has fallen all over the road running between the houses and the apartments and vehicles can no longer ply over it.

Currently, the debris is being cleared. The damage caused to the owners has not yet been ascertained. Fortunately, the rains have not claimed any life so far.
