College girl reported missing on July 10 found dead on July 12

Byndoor, July 12, 2014 :  A student of Shiroor Pre University College Rathna Kottary  was reported missing July 10. Search operations launched by the police and  locals in nearby forest areas and fire station personnel in the river, her fate remained unknown.

 

 

It was suspected that Rathna might have been kidnapped.  An emergency meeting was also held between the Shiroor College Management Board and School Development Monitoring Committee.

However, on July 12, the locals stumbled upon Rathna’s body in the bushes on the slopes near the residence of her parents  when they had gone to collect shrubs. Prime evidence indicates that the college student might have faced sexual molestation and abuse. A case has been registered in Byndoor Police Station and investigations initiated.
