College administrative officers harassed Mehnaz, alleges students’ union

Mangalore, Apr 15, 2012: The PA College Students’ Union has issued a press release, in which it has alleged that college authorities are exerting pressure on students not to express their opinions before the media regarding the suicide of Mehnaz Ali, a second year student of the college. 

It may be recalled that Mehnaz Ali committed suicide on April 9 Tuesday. 

According to the students, she committed suicide because she was harassed by college administrative officials and that, in the absence of female teachers, the evidence has been tampered with and attempts have the made to change her post mortem reports. 

The students also alleged that Mehnaz, who had just been on a tour to Goa, was verbally abused by the campus director, following which she committed suicide.

The students’ union has demanded a thorough investigation of the death of Mehnaz.
