City cops submit proposal to RTO to cancel 170 driving licenses

Mangaluru, Aug 08, 2023: The City police have submitted a proposal to the Regional Transport Authority to cancel the driving licenses of 170 riders and drivers for violating Motor Vehicles Act between July 27 and August 6.

 

While 24 cases are pertaining to accidents, 12 pertaining to over speeding and negligent driving, 11 pertaining to ferrying people in goods vehicles, five cases pertaining to mobile phone usage while driving, seven pertaining to signal jumping and  three pertaining to triple riding. As many as 95 cases of helmetless riding and 13 cases of seat belt violation have been recommended for cancellation of driving licenses.

From July 13 to 26 proposal was submitted to cancel driving licenses of 222 motorists, Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar Jain has said.
