Children exhorted to minimize mobile phone use

Mangaluru, Nov 16, 2021: As part of Child Line Se Dosti Week and  Child Rights Month celebrations,  a programme for high school students was held at the Government High School, Meenakaliya, Baikampady on November 16, Tuesday on the topic "Child Friendly Police Station."

Umesh, Inspector of Baikampady Police Station, who was the chief resource person of the programme, exhorted children to restrict use of mobile phone and also not to share any personal photographs on social media. He said children must immediately contact the Child Help Line 1098 or Police Helpline 112 in case they are subjected to any form of torture.  Such children will be provided with immediate assistance, he assured.

He also said children can also visit police stations without any fear and that every police station has a Child Welfare officer.

Probationary Inspector Pratibha who also spoke, urged children to immediately call 112 Helpline if they find anyone using drugs and assured the names of the informers will be kept a secret.

Child Welfare Officer Chaitra, Child Help Line Convenor Dikshith Achrappady, Headmaster of the school  Satyanarayana and others were present.
