Chikkamagaluru, Nov 6, 2026: A private tourist bus from Kerala bearing messages glorifying underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was spotted in Chikkamagaluru, triggering protests and controversy.

The bus reportedly carried provocative slogans such as “Dawood Rise of Day” and “Emperor Strikes Again”, which appeared to portray the underworld figure as a hero.

Bus siezed

When the bus reached the area near Bolarameshwara Temple in Chikkamagaluru town, activists of Hindu organisations noticed the writings, stopped the vehicle and expressed strong objections.

Town police arrived at the spot, seized the bus and its documents, and began an inspection.

The incident has raised concerns as similar writings and stickers allegedly supporting the Dawood gang were found on a tourist bus from Tamil Nadu around six months ago. The recurrence of such messages on a Kerala-registered bus has triggered public concern.

BJP Yuva Morcha alleges security lapse

The BJP Yuva Morcha questioned how the bus managed to pass through several police checkpoints before reaching Chikkamagaluru. Describing the incident as a serious security lapse, it urged the police to initiate strict legal action against those responsible for glorifying criminals and anti-national elements.

The organisation also warned of intense protests if such incidents were repeated.
