He stressed the need for early alignment approval and administrative clearance for the NH-275 widening project, describing it as a crucial and long-awaited initiative that would significantly improve connectivity between the coastal and interior regions while ensuring smoother and safer traffic movement.

Chowta highlighted that the project is essential for enhancing road safety, easing vehicular movement, and boosting regional economic growth. He urged the Ministry to ensure the project is implemented within a stipulated timeframe.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of the Mangaluru–Bengaluru Expressway project. Chowta welcomed the Alignment Approval Committee’s clearance for the new road alignment through the Shiradi Ghat section, which forms a vital part of the proposed expressway.

Reiterating that strengthening road infrastructure in Dakshina Kannada and improving connectivity between Mangaluru and Bengaluru remain among his top priorities, Chowta assured that he would continue to pursue the projects with the concerned Union ministries to ensure their timely implementation in the interest of the district and the coastal region.

Speaking after the meeting, Chowta said world-class connectivity is essential to encourage more people to return to Dakshina Kannada.

"Good road infrastructure is the gateway to investment, economic growth, and employment opportunities. It will make Dakshina Kannada a better place to live, work, and build a prosperous future. I remain committed to pursuing these projects until they become a reality," he said.
