Cattle-laden truck intercepted on Kalladka flyover; three flee as police arrive

Mangaluru, Sep 30, 2026: A truck allegedly transporting cattle was intercepted by Hindu organisation activists on the Kalladka flyover in the early hours of Wednesday.

The truck, which was travelling from Mani towards Mangaluru, was stopped and checked on the flyover. More than six cattle were reportedly found inside the vehicle.

On receiving the information, personnel from the Bantwal Town Police Station reached the spot, rescued the cattle and seized the truck. Three persons allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot after noticing the police.

Police are investigating the origin of the cattle and where they were being transported. Further investigation is underway by the Bantwal Town police.
