Case Registered Against RSS Leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for Alleged Hate Speech in Puttur

Puttur, Oct 26, 2025: Police have registered a case against RSS representative Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for allegedly delivering a speech inciting religious hatred and insulting women during the Deepotsava programme held at Uppalige on October 20.

The complaint, filed by Ishwari Padmunja of Puttur taluk, accuses Bhat of making derogatory remarks about both Hindu and Muslim communities and referring to their population figures in a manner that could foster communal tension.

The speech was reportedly streamed on the ‘Kahale News’ YouTube channel, according to the complaint.

Acting on the complaint, Puttur Rural Police registered a case on October 25 under Crime No. 118/2025, invoking Sections 79, 196, 299, 302, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Bhat and the event organisers.

An investigation is underway.
