Car theft case accused arrested after 27 years

Mangaluru, Aug 28, 2023: Urwa police have arrested an absconding accused in a car theft case, after almost 27 years. The arrested man has been identified as Manoj (52) of Kerala.

 

A car belonging to Vincent Pereira which was parked by his driver Damodar on the roadside at Kottara on December 24, 1996 was stolen following which a complaint was lodged.

The police who recently gathered information that the accused was in Kallikote in Kerala went there and arrested him. He has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
