Car sale scam through Olx: Banavasi man arrested in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, June 30, 2025: The CEN police of Mangaluru have arrested a Banavasi man in connection with a car sale scam through Olx app.

The arrested man is Ravichandra Manjunath Revankar (29). He has been accused of cheating the complainant from Mangaluru of Rs 2.5 lakhs after promising to sell a car through the app.

During investigation, it was found that the accused had 21 accounts in various banks apart from 8 SIM cards. It has been learnt that over 80 cyber cheating case has been filed with regard to his eight mobile numbers.

The accused reportedly cheated many after securing cash in the name of selling car through Olx app during the past three years.
