Car owner goes missing ; vehicle found abandoned near Netravathi Bridge

Mangaluru, April 16, 2020:   A car was found in an abandoned state  near the Netravathi Bridge near Thokkottu on the National Highway 66 on Wednesday night. The owner of the car, Vikram Gatti (34), hailing from Someshwar Kolya is reported missing. The suspicion is that he might have committed suicide by jumping into the river from the bridge.

The car of Vikram who  was residing at Konaje Pulinchadi in his newly constructed house was found   near the entrance of the bridge from the Thokkottu side at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday. The headlights of the car were on and the door was found open. Vikram’s phone is also found switched off.

Search is underway for Vikram. Kankanady police are at the spot.

A missing complaint has been filed at Konaje police station by Vikram’s brother  Jeevan Gatti.  Vikram was running a garage at Kolya. He  had married five years ago and has a four year old son. He had constructed a house near Konaje Pulinchadi about a year and a half ago in the ancestral property of his wife.

It has been gathered that Vikram who  was in his house on Wednesday night had left at around 9 pm saying he had to  recharge the car battery but did not return.
